Fall 2024 Study:

Romans: Grace Abounds (Part 1)
(This session will run from September 10th-November 21st)

General Information:

Ladies (ages 14+) are invited to join our Women’s Bible Study at Here’s Hope Church. Participants may choose to attend either our Tuesday morning (10:00-12:00) or Thursday evening (6:00-8:00) classes in the HHC Fellowship Hall.

Our studies are intended to build Bible literacy and to nurture a Christ-centered community. This means that our studies include homework, discussion, teaching, singing, prayer, and fellowship.

Typically we will alternate between Old Testament and New Testament studies. We take a break from our studies in the summer and winter months.

Most of our studies require the purchase of a workbook.

Past studies include:
-“2 Samuel: A King Unlike the Nations” by TVC Resources (Spring 2024)
-“1 Samuel: A King Unlike the Nations” by TVC Resources (Fall 2023)
-“From Beginning to Forever” by Elizabeth Woodson (Spring 2023)
-“Blessed” by Nancy Guthrie (Fall 2022)
-“Remember Your Joy” by Courtney Doctor and Melissa Kruger (Spring 2022, Session 2)
-“Engaging God’s Word: Job” by Engage Bible Studies (Spring 2022, Session 1)
-“Better: A Study of Hebrews” by Jen Wilkin (Fall 2021, Session 2)

“Our goal is that each middle school and high school student develop an authentic relationship with Jesus.”

THE MISSION OF HHC YOUTH MINISTRY
The Youth Ministry at HHC exists to help each middle school and high school student develop a real and personal relationship with Jesus and to prepare them for the next steps in their lives. We don’t want students to adopt their parent’s faith or simply learn religious doctrinal statements. We want them to know, love, and trust Jesus. Their personal relationship with Him is what will equip them for whatever their next step may be in life.

HOPE YOUTH
Hope Youth meets each Sunday evening from 5:00-6:30 PM. This is where our 6-12 grade students and their friends get together for fun, food, worship, and teaching.

FOUR12 YOUTH
We know the importance of empowering our youth to employ their gifts to serve Jesus by serving others in the local church. We call these our “FOUR12 YOUTH”. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” We believe that our students can set a great example as they serve others within the local church. Serving others an essential way that God grows our faith, builds community, and makes us more like Jesus.
Kids are a big deal to us at Here’s Hope Church!

Families are welcome to keep their children with them for the duration of our worship services, or they are free to use our volunteer-supported nursery and/or lower elementary program.

Older elementary and middle school students (as well as younger children remaining in service) are welcome to use the Bible study journals or coloring books found on the tables leading into the sanctuary. At the back of the Bible study journals, students will find “Sermon Guides” to help them pay attention and learn. If you are visiting, we ask that you return these materials to their tables at the conclusion of the service.

Your children’s safety is of the utmost importance to us. We perform background checks on all of our volunteers and take other security measures to ensure a safe setting.

Nursery: Birth-Preschool

Our nursery is available for families during the entire worship service. Our loving volunteers are delighted to look after little ones who need a safe place to get their wiggles out and hear about Jesus at the same time.

In our nursery you will find a variety of age-appropriate toys, board books, storybook Bibles, coloring books, and a changing table.

Preschoolers (ages 3-5) in our nursery may briefly join our K-3 class to sing songs, memorize Bible verses, and/or hear Bible stories.

Lower Elementary Program (Kindergarten-3rd Grade

Our K-3 students use the Gospel Story curriculum by Marty Machowski. The Gospel Storycurriculum is a three-year program comprising 156 lessons divided equally between Old Testament and New Testament–78 lessons in each.

Students are dismissed for class just before the sermon.

We encourage families to use the companion devotionals, Long Story Short (Old Testament) and Old Story New (New Testament), at home to help reinforce the lessons our team of volunteers share each week.

We also memorize scripture together using the SWORD Bible Memory program. This program is designed to help families memorize God’s Word together month by month. Since we memorize a passage over the course of a month, verses do not always connect to a particular classroom lesson. But, by spending more time on one passage rather than a short time on a new one each week, the children are better able to remember and retain what they memorize.

Our K-3 students adopt a country to pray for each month as well. Most of these countries are included on the 2022 World Watch List put out by Open Doors.

To join us in praying for our students and volunteers and to keep up with our current lesson, SWORD memory verse, and adopted country, please pick up our monthly newsletter located on the podium outside the Hope Kids’ classroom.

“God’s Grocery” is what we call our pantry ministry. We offer free grocery and toiletry items in Jesus’ name. God is providing this ministry as He works in us and through us to love one another in tangible ways. He gets all the thanks and praise.
